Powerchair Football

Growing the team and powerchair football

Published on

Melbourne City Powerchair Team hosted a come-and-try event on March 15 to introduce Powerchair Football to some new players. In a challenging time due to COVID-19, the event had six new players registered to attend. Although not all could attend on the day, the event introduced three new players to the sport.

We are very grateful of the support from Western Sydney Wanderers and South Melbourne Powerchair Teams who lended a hand on the day. The 2-hour event featured drills and a shortened demonstration match.

This event was the first of many come-and-try events we have planned for the future. This would not be possible without the support of City in the Community and the Westpac Foundation.

We cannot wait to host more come-and-try events once it is safe to do so. Our main aim is raise awareness about Powerchair Football and what people with disabilities can accomplish in sport and in the community.

Hear from some of our players and see how Powerchair Football has impacted their lives and why you should get involved!
